China does not enjoy many vacations and also there are only few public holidays. But 3 times a year, almost whole China comes to a standstill, as millions of people are traveling home and visiting parents, relatives and friends.
1. Chinese New year:
January or beginning of February. Factories close for 2, some even for 3 weeks.
2. Labour day:
First week in May is closed.
3. Founding of PR China:
First week in October is closed.
These dates must be kept in mind for shipment or production schedules.
